Open Source iOS & Android App for Conferences and Events

How to build a new iOS app (Swift)

Let’s identify the primary steps for setting up your iOS mobile application:

    Step 1

First, you need to have a backend, which will provide your iOS app with the content it needs. We’re using Firebase BAAS.

    Step 2

    Clone this repository

    Step 3

    Open Connfa.xcworkspace in Xcode.

    Step 4

Create your Firebase project and follow the steps described here.

    Step 5

Our iOS app also has a configuration file. Set an appropriate time zone, a date for when the event will start, a calendar name and a Twitter search query in Configurations.plist.

    Step 6

Follow Firebase instructions in order to set up dynamic links. Define an associated domain that also requires a new apple-app-site-association file with your appID.

    Step 7

Now, we need to deploy our already configured Cloud Functions as described here. This will generate a unique Pin for the new users.

    Step 8

Take a look at the realtime database structure example.

We still need a CMS for Connfa!. If you’re up to the task, any contributions would be greatly appreciated.
